The SEC’s Office of the Whistleblower has delivered its annual report to Congress on the progress of the whistleblower program. Among the highlights:
- A 30 percent jump in the number of tips the office received from fiscal 2012.
- A spike in the number of claims for awards.
- International tips rose from the previous year, with Australia coming in at No. 5 on the list.
To date the program has awarded nearly $54 million to eligible whistleblowers since the program went into effect in August 2011. Read the full report here.
