Mary, thank you for your wisdom and tips (hacks) regarding creating an enhanced ethics and compliance program!  I’m only through the first 20 cheat codes, but already see a lot of value and will be implementing some new ideas when I return to the office!

Such a fun read!  As the “next-generation” compliance professional, the biggest takeaway for me is that in compliance, adaptability is an underrated skill, and when you think you have become an “expert” – that comfort zone – it vanishes quickly.

My book is already fairly dog eared from folding down the pages of the tips (or hacks) that I know I will come back to in the future and implement. It is a great book for anyone new to compliance, as well as more experienced practitioners who are looking for creative and realistic ideas that can help improve their programs.

One of my favorite aspects is Mary’s empathetic writing style. She dedicates the book to “those with good hearts, and especially the kindhearted underdogs.” This resonated with me deeply, and this sentiment is felt throughout as she validates the hard work compliance professionals do behind-the-scenes to uphold ethics.

I wish I had access to this book earlier in my career. The chapter on stakeholder engagement would have helped me better collaborate cross-functionally. And the advice on presenting to leadership would have built my confidence. Mary distills years of experience into easily digestible tips

Best vacation read ever! I cannot wait to get back into the office to start implementing! Thank you Mary Shirley!

Compliance is hard but “level up” makes success feel attainable. It seems like each week we as compliance professionals are asked to do more with less and often times knowing where to even start is a challenge. This book gives you tactical tips to driving more value with the resources you are given. If you are a professional in the ethics and compliance space, this is a must have in your toolbox. If I could give it 10 stars I would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The first compliance book I thoroughly enjoyed reading… If you even have an interest in Compliance, this is a really fun read. I highly recommend it for compliance professionals, and those looking to enter the field.

As far as a book review, it’s not often that I’m reading a book on Compliance and Ethics that is a quick, fun, digestible read.
