Policy on the use of artificial intelligence (AI)

CCI Media Group, Corporate Compliance Insights (CCI) and related publications, including CCI Magazine and CCI Press, have established frameworks governing ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) by our editorial, advertising, business and marketing teams.

We are committed to transparency with regard to the content we publish and how we handle subscriber data. Our AI policies are outlined below; if you have questions about how we use this technology, email us.

Editorial

To support our mission as an independent news organization in compliance, risk and governance, our journalists regularly use generative AI platforms, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude, as a productivity boost, assisting in content evaluation, outlining stories, suggesting interview questions, copy editing and rewriting, headline writing, image generation and other creative tasks.

Several guardrails ensure human oversight of these tools:

  • All AI-generated content is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by people.
  • AI-generated material is never published verbatim without an editor’s approval.
  • AI-generated images are labeled clearly.
  • AI does not make publishing decisions.
  • We do not use AI tools as sources for factual information.

Advertising, Business & Marketing

Non-editorial functions at CCI Media Group may be aided by generative AI platforms, including those listed above, for tasks like search engine optimization, keyword research and drafting social media posts. CCI uses non-generative AI tools, such as analytics and automation, to manage the contacts in our subscriber database, segment the database for outreach purposes, schedule newsletters and eblasts, track campaign metrics and other marketing tasks.

No generative AI tool interacts with subscriber data, the use of which is outlined in our privacy policy.
