Sovos, an invoicing and tax compliance solutions provider, announced that it acquired Tel Aviv-based Blue dot, an AI-powered VAT (value-added tax) intelligence and recovery platform. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Sovos intends to embed Blue dot’s AI, which automatically processes financial transactions, such as travel expenses and invoices, into its compliance transaction flow, according to a press release. Blue dot’s data science and engineering teams will join Sovos’ product and technology organization.
“Blue dot has built something genuinely rare — an AI engine purpose-built to understand the complexity and context hidden inside enterprise transaction data,” Kevin Akeroyd, CEO of Sovos, said in a statement. “Its combination of tax intelligence and agentic technology gives us a powerful foundation to accelerate our broader AI strategy. Just as importantly, we are adding a talented team that has spent nearly a decade building AI in production at enterprise scale.”
