Communications data firm Smarsh has acquired CallCabinet, a cloud-native compliance call recording provider, in a move to expand its voice recording and analytics capabilities across international markets, the company said. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition comes as regulatory pressure intensifies around voice call retention, with more than $4B in GDPR penalties and recent CFTC fines highlighting the need for advanced compliance technologies. Smarsh will integrate CallCabinet’s technology to provide voice recording and analytics alongside its existing digital communications platform.
“This acquisition enables Smarsh to accelerate our mission to deliver the most advanced and comprehensive AI-powered communications compliance platform in the market today,” said Kim Crawford Goodman, Smarsh CEO. “With CallCabinet, Smarsh extends its leading communications capture capabilities to include advanced and scalable voice capture, voice surveillance and voice insights technology.”
