Diligent Corporation, a provider of GRC SaaS solutions, announced its third annual Modern Governance Summit (MGS) would take place virtually September 14-15, along with a lineup of notable speakers.
Keynote speakers will include Cecilia Muñoz, former domestic policy director for the Obama administration and current senior adviser at New America; Robert F. Smith, founder, chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners; retired Lt Col. Alexander Vindman; and Dr. Dambisa Moyo, co-principal of Verasca Investments, global economist, author and board member.
MGS 2021 is expected be the largest GRC event of the year, bringing together thousands of leaders to explore key issues like digital transformation, stakeholder capitalism, climate action and sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with peers, hear from industry experts, and learn how to elevate governance practices across their organization. Following the theme “Leading with Purpose,” MGS 2021 is expected to address overlapping challenges that many organizations are currently facing including a global pandemic, increasing ESG requirements, systemic racism, cybersecurity threats and a dramatic shift in the workplace.
Key highlights from the agenda include:
- A keynote panel on changing organizational culture in light of the rise of stakeholder capitalism featuring Charles Philips, managing partner and co-founder of Recognize; Robin Washington, strategic advisor and board member of Alphabet, Inc., Honeywell International, Inc. and Salesforce; Hubert Joly, former chairman and CEO of BestBuy; and moderated by Alan Murray, CEO of Fortune Media (USA) Corp.
- A chat about the impending transfer of $70 trillion in wealth to fund social causes and the implications for the future of governance with Robert F. Smith, founder, chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners and Darren Walker, president of Ford Foundation.
- An interview about speaking truth to power between retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman of Lawfare Institute and television news commentator and New York Times best-selling author, Keith Boykin.
- A closing keynote address by Cecilia Muñoz, former domestic policy director for the Obama administration, and current senior adviser at New America, about how executives can lead with purpose.
