New cybersecurity program offering provides firms with a risk management framework to boost cyber and operational resilience
October 21, 2020 – ACA Aponix, part of the ACA Compliance Group (ACA), today announced the launch of a new global cybersecurity offering, Aponix Protect. Available now, Aponix Protect is a complete cybersecurity program designed to help firms address evolving cyber risks and threats to ensure that their cybersecurity needs are covered year-round. This solution is available in three tiers, each one designed to provide firms with a flexible, robust, responsive and cost-effective cybersecurity program.
With Aponix Protect, firms can subscribe to the level of coverage most relevant to their existing levels of maturity and organizational structure to help build, complement, or scale existing cybersecurity programs. The service also gives firms access to ACA’s cyber, privacy and risk consultant base for testing, validation, and operational support and provides them with day-to-day cybersecurity coverage as well as the ability to quickly respond to future threats and regulatory changes.
Firms globally are faced with a constant torrent of new and emerging cybersecurity threats, a challenge that has been exacerbated in recent months, according to U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Deputy Assistant Director, Tonya Ugoretz, who revealed the number of cybercrime reports has quadrupled since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the past decade ACA has seen financial services regulators take the lead on cybersecurity regulation and many other industries are following suit. Since 2014, the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE) of the U.S. Securities and. Exchange Commission (SEC) has highlighted cybersecurity as a priority, with information security included as a key element in its examination program over the past eight years. And in the UK, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) states, “firms should not see operational resilience primarily as a regulatory issue, but rather as a business priority”.
Henry Lindemann, Managing Director, ACA Aponix, said: “Cybersecurity testing and the associated governance needs to move from point-in-time to an ongoing pursuit. As part of the phenomenon ACA calls RiskMutationTM, cyber and operational risks are merging with today’s changing geo-political climate, market volatility, and remote working environment, forcing firms to seek new solutions for building efficiency, resilience, and scale in order to adapt and remain vigilant.
With Aponix Protect, we’ve harnessed ACA’s deep industry expertise and experience from servicing hundreds of clients to design a solution that helps clients respond to these challenges and add value while protecting their business, now and in the future.”
