SmartSearch has acquired Credas Technologies, a provider of identity verification solutions for the legal and property sectors, the UK-based digital KYC and AML platform provider said. The acquisition, which became final Jan. 7, integrates Credas’ technology and expand SmartSearch’s product offering and market reach across regulated industries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Regulated firms are under pressure to meet rising KYC and AML demands while delivering seamless onboarding,” Phil Cotter, CEO of SmartSearch, said in a news release when the acquisition was announced in October 2025. “By joining forces with Credas, we combine our strengths to deliver unmatched innovation and service.”
SmartSearch also announced it has integrated its AML verification capabilities with Iress’ financial advice software, Xplan, allowing advisers to conduct AML checks and compliance activities directly within the Iress platform.
