Smarsh Unveils AI Platform Enhancements

Smarsh AI Copilot Launch

Smarsh has announced platform updates including AI-powered compliance tools and expanded API capabilities designed to integrate with existing legal and case management systems, the company says. The Portland-based communications data and intelligence provider introduced capture for Microsoft 365 Copilot to help financial institutions govern AI interactions while maintaining compliance records, alongside new API integrations with providers that include Exterro and Relativity.

Smarsh, which serves banks, insurers and investment firms globally, designed the Microsoft 365 Copilot integration to capture AI prompts, files and responses across Microsoft platforms with what it describes as tamper-proof records. The company also announced Intelligent Agent, an AI tool developed with financial institutions that aims to reduce compliance review workloads by up to 50% while detecting risks across multiple languages. The tool will be available in late 2025.

“AI is transforming how the world’s largest financial institutions operate, and Smarsh is proud to lead them into this new era,” Tom Padgett, president of enterprise business at Smarsh, said in a news release.
