This year may prove to be a watershed one for antitrust enforcement, as the Biden Administration is expected to release new merger guidelines and several major cases are headed for trial, according to a report from global law firm Paul | Weiss.
Among the areas the firm expects to garner attention this year are:
- Revised merger guidelines are expected soon from the DOJ and FTC.
- The DOJ will continue to look closely at interlocking boards.
- Google is scheduled to go to trial in a case brought by DOJ and state attorneys general over the company’s search engine.
