Digital health platform Locke Bio has launched a standalone payment processing service that enables telehealth companies and online pharmacies to process prescription medication payments through authorized banks. The new service, Locke Bio Pay, operates independently of the company’s main software platform.
Locke Bio, which has helped more than 80 companies obtain LegitScript certification for online pharmacy payments, built the solution through partnerships with US banks chartered for telehealth and prescription payment processing. The service provides companies with a one-click checkout page that ensures regulatory compliance.
“Most payment processors are not equipped to handle the unique regulatory requirements for online prescription sales,” said Cathy Tie, CEO of Locke Bio. “With Locke Bio Pay, we’re using our deep expertise in digital health compliance to create a simple, plug-and-play solution any company can use, while leveraging our backend integrations with properly chartered banks.”
