2026 Risk Barometer

The Allianz risk barometer 2026 reveals the top business threats as ranked by more than 3,300 risk management experts across 97 countries and territories. For the first time, artificial intelligence ranks among the top concerns alongside persistent cyber threats, business interruption and regulatory changes.

Key findings from the 15th annual survey:

• Cyber incidents remain the number one global business risk, with organizations of all sizes facing escalating threats from ransomware, data breaches and IT disruptions.
• AI emerges as the second-ranked risk, reflecting growing concerns about implementation challenges, liability exposures and the spread of misinformation.
• Business interruption, including supply chain disruption, ranks third as companies continue to navigate operational vulnerabilities.
• Changes in legislation and regulation, including tariffs and new sustainability requirements, place fourth as businesses face mounting compliance pressures.
• Natural catastrophes and climate change risks remain prominent, with 2025 marking the sixth consecutive year of insured losses exceeding $100 billion.
