Margarita Derelanko

Margarita Derelanko, named a “30 Under 30” Trendsetter by SNJ Millennials, is a Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) professional who is conscientious about fostering a proactive culture of compliance and believes in the impact of organizational integrity on communities. Most recently, Margarita served as a Director of Compliance at an integrated health care organization. She is a master at managing all of the day-to-day activities of the compliance department, recommending ways to minimize risk and collaborating with stakeholders, including executives, to ensure enterprise-wide compliance.

Margarita encourages others to care about compliance in all industries through presentations at the state, regional and local levels on transformational characteristics of an engaging compliance program. Her philosophy of “CARE” focuses on simple concepts – “Compliance Awareness, Reinforcement and Engagement (CARE)” – that can elevate a business by doing the right thing, implementing foundational elements of an effective compliance program, devoting resources toward employee or volunteer engagement and minimizing risk. Prior to health care compliance, Margarita worked at a global law firm, performing risk management and compliance procedures, including research and identifying conflicts of interest.

Margarita earned her Master of Arts from Villanova University and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Corporate Compliance from George Washington University. She is a Co-Chair of the Quality Assurance Compliance Committee of the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies, Inc. (NJAMHAA) and a Co-Chair of the Security, Privacy and Compliance Committee of the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (NJHIMSS).
