Kimberly D. Hirsch is Advisory Team Lead at Fusion Risk Management. Kim oversees the group that provides subject matter expertise in order to help customers plan, implement and exercise enterprise business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management and operational risk programs and associated components. These include program management and governance, business impact analysis, planning, exercise, crisis communications, vendor management, program improvement and analysis, among others.

Kim has more than 18 years of experience in being a business continuity and crisis management practitioner at Fortune 100 companies. Most recently, she was the crisis response manager at Ameriprise Financial, leading enterprise efforts to effectively respond to crisis events and developed a global program governance structure. Her teams’ efforts around an event that closed a customer contact center for a week earned a Chairman’s Award for Excellence, the company’s highest honor.

Prior to this, as the senior business partner for global continuity and resilience at Target Corporation, Kim was responsible for all aspects of program management, governance and incident management for the Fortune 50 retailer’s enterprise continuity program. Other positions include developing and then managing a business continuity and disaster recovery program from scratch for a manufacturing and distribution company in Minneapolis. Prior to specializing in business continuity, Kim gained extensive experience as a vendor manager and worked in global procurement at American Express, giving her a unique insight into vendor issues related to continuity.

Kim graduated from Hamline University with a degree in management and political science. She is professionally certified as a Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), a Business Continuity Management Systems Auditor and ISO22301 Lead Auditor. Kim has spoken at numerous industry events, including Continuity Insights, DRJ and Secure360 and contributed to a number of industry publications, including the Journal of Business Continuity and Emergency Response. Most recently, Kim was elected to the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) USA Board of Directors.
