TrustArc Introduces Intelligence Engine to Automate Privacy Risk Management

Breakthrough capability streamlines and simplifies privacy risk management for GDPR and other laws and compliance regulations globally

Austin, TX (October 17, 2018) – TrustArc, the leading data privacy management company, today announced TrustArc Intelligence Engine at the IAPP Privacy. Security. Risk Conference in Austin. Intelligence Engine is a major addition to the TrustArc privacy platform and a breakthrough in reducing the time to evaluate privacy risks under GDPR and similar laws. The first-of-its-kind privacy automation, Intelligence Engine enables organizations to save up to 75 percent of the time it takes to identify, analyze and prioritize privacy risks.

The TrustArc Intelligence Engine automates privacy risk analysis across projects, addressing a key pain point for organizations who previously could only comply with regulator guidance for high risk on a project-by-project basis. This new level of automation significantly reduces evaluation time and delivers an aggregated view of risks to help organizations prioritize their privacy efforts. The new repeatable and objective methodology is based on TrustArc insights and deep experience gained from extensive privacy risk analyses conducted across thousands of assessments globally.

While many companies implemented new processes and tools to meet compliance requirements leading up to the May 25th GDPR deadline, the effort required to maintain ongoing compliance is complex and time consuming, particularly for companies with hundreds or thousands of business activities, projects and processes to manage. The TrustArc Intelligence Engine seamlessly integrates with other major enhancements to the TrustArc privacy platform, including new intelligent assessments and comprehensive reporting.

Chris Babel, TrustArc CEO commented, “Managing ongoing GDPR compliance is complicated for companies with large privacy teams and nearly impossible for everyone else. Creating and maintaining a data inventory, keeping the records up-to-date, testing to determine if high-risk processing is present, conducting risk assessments and producing compliance reports requires significant privacy expertise and resources to manage. The TrustArc Intelligence Engine revolutionizes privacy management by automating and simplifying these complex tasks, making it easier for companies to manage risk and maintain compliance.”

TrustArc Intelligence Engine runs continuously to automatically review and analyze a company’s data flows recorded in the TrustArc Platform, using a proprietary algorithm to identify high-risk processing activities and determine the need to conduct a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA). The DPIA is seamlessly triggered in the TrustArc Platform when high-risk processing is detected, and the process of completing the assessment and generating compliance reports is automated – saving time, increasing accuracy and improving record keeping.
