Michael Chertoff Forms Risk Management Firm: Chertoff Group

Michael Chertoff - forms Chertoff Group for Risk ManagementMichael Chertoff, the former head of the Department of Homeland Security under President George W. Bush, has formed his own risk management firm, according to a report by Cam Simpson in the Wall Street Journal. Michael Chertoff formed the Chertoff Group to advise corporations and governments, including foreign governments.

The Chertoff Group will be based in Washington with offices in New York and will advise clients in the following areas of security concern:

  • Cyber Security
  • Terrorism
  • Fraud
  • Border Protection
  • Supply-Chain Security

In addition these areas, Michael Chertoff and the Chertoff Group will offer consulting services on M&A in the security field, along with due diligence support.

Michael Chertoff, 55, was tapped in 2005 to become the head of the Department of Homeland Security by President Bush. He maintained this post until President Barack Obama took office in January. Prior to being named head of the Department of Homeland Security, Chertoff serves as federal appellate judge and oversaw the criminal division of the Justice Department.
