SVP, Chief Administrative Officer, Compliance – Philadelphia

Job Description

Toronto Dominion Bank seeks a Compliance Chief Administrative Officer for a role that is a newly-developed, senior function supporting the U.S. Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and the Compliance department in the organization and execution of Compliance regulatory risk management. Reporting into the CCO, the Chief Administrative Officer (i) provides increased bandwidth and velocity to the Chief Compliance Officer, (ii) builds, organizes and supports the strategic development of the Compliance function (iii) manage the administration of the Compliance department.

The SVP, Compliance Chief Administrative Officer role is a newly-developed, senior function supporting the U.S. Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and the Compliance department in the organization and execution of Compliance regulatory risk management. Reporting into the CCO, the SVP, Compliance Chief Administrative Officer provides increased bandwidth and velocity to the Chief Compliance Officer; builds, organizes and supports the strategic development of the Compliance function; and manages the administration of the Compliance department.

Initially, the SVP, Compliance Chief Administrative Officer will be responsible for building the office of the CCO and the governance process; developing, organizing and executing strategic reviews of the Compliance department, culminating in the development the Annual Strategic Planning Process; overseeing the re-organization of the Compliance function; and centralizing hiring, headcount, costs/expenses and operations into one administrative function.

Desired Skills & Experience

Legal background, preferred
• Compliance Officer with at least 10 years of financial industry experience
• The candidate will already have responsibility for managing a Compliance program, with a combination of previous experience in all Control Processes
• Strong background in technology development/implementation or change management projects
• Project management expertise
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates, including upwards to the CEO, laterally to others on the executive team and downward throughout the organizational chart
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with different types of executives and staff
