Chief Executive Officer – Clovis, New Mexico

This position is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all of the corporate functions of the cooperative to ensure efficient operations and financial results that will benefit its stockholders and employees. The CEO is responsible for generating and servicing creditworthy loans and related products in the cooperative’s territory under the policies and procedures outlined by the Ag New Mexico Board of Directors, the Farm Credit Bank of Texas and the Farm Credit Administration.

The Chief Executive Officer oversees budget preparations and budget adherence; compliance to audit and Sarbanes Oxley controls; planning and execution of an advertising/marketing program, and a public and member relations program; and association and mortgage loan accounting; and is responsible for maintaining the cooperative’s public image as a viable financial institution.  The CEO ensures association functions are in compliance under the policies and procedures outlined by the Board of Directors, the Farm Credit Bank of Texas, and the Farm Credit Administration.

This position oversees complex credit transactions and provides leadership to the Board on new market and fee income opportunities, credit participations, financial products and services. The CEO also models superior customer service to all stockholders and prospective customers. This position is accountable for the organization of the headquarters and branch offices; the establishment of office procedures and delegation of authorities; formal annual planning process and development of goals, objectives and action plans; internal and quality control; job performance standards; salary administration; and performance evaluations of employees.

Desired Skills & Experience of Chief Executive Officer

Ag New Mexico is seeking a Chief Executive Officer with proven superior credit and risk management skills, outstanding leadership ability, and a demonstrated history of generating quality credits and profitability.  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or Agricultural Economics is required. The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of proven banking experience in fiscal operations, lending and/or finance and accounting, with responsibility for achieving financial goals and objectives through the organization and management of a professional staff and budget. Five (5) years experience in a supervisory/management capacity is also required. In addition, the position requires excellent oral and written communication skills and a broad-based knowledge of the Farm Credit System and Farm Credit association credit functions.
