Mike Koehler is an Assistant Professor of Business Law at Butler University and is the Featured FCPA Columnist for Corporate Compliance Insights.
Professor Koehler is an active writer and speaker on FCPA topics and his scholarship (available at http://works.bepress.com/mike_koehler) has appeared in numerous law reviews, journals, and business trade publications.
Mike Koehler also is the managing editor of FCPA Professor, a blog and forum devoted to furthering understanding and discussion of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Professor Koehler’s FCPA expertise and views are informed by a decade of legal practice experience at an international law firm during which he conducted FCPA investigations around the world, negotiated resolutions to FCPA enforcement actions with government enforcement agencies, and advised clients on FCPA compliance and risk assessment.
His research interests broadly include the intersection of corporate conduct and criminal law, corporate compliance and ethics, international trade and investment, and specifically the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (and other anti-corruption laws and initiatives).
His scholarship and articles have appeared in, among other publications, the University of Memphis Law Review, the Wisconsin International Law Journal, China Law & Practice, Prevention of Corporate Liability, and the White Collar Crime Report.
Professor Koehler’s teaching expertise and interests center on business law subjects including business dispute resolution, international business transactions, white collar crime, securities regulation, and corporate compliance and ethics. His expertise and views are informed by a decade of legal practice experience at an international business law firm during which he represented clients in business litigation, international business transactions, compliance and governance issues, and business fraud investigations (including related Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement actions).
