Announcing the CCI Money for Nothing Book Giveaway

Unfortunately, the failure of corporate boards to exercise oversight, logic, and restraint has been a prevalent topic here at CCI ever since our launch in December of ‘08. From Bank of America to General Motors and so many others in between, the role and responsibilities of America’s corporate boards have come under increased scrutiny, and for good reason.

money for nothing bookAuthors John Gillespie and David Zweig recently wrote a book – entitled Money for Nothing and published by Simon and Schuster – that highlights these corporate board failures and that seeks to illustrate how such failures are “ruining American business and costing us trillions.”

Here is an excerpt from one review of the book, from Publishers Weekly:

…While Gillespie and Zweig sew in just enough juicy tales of mismanagement and scandalous misbehavior, they make a genuine effort to highlight representative issues and portray corporate leadership in all its complexity, instead of as a simplistic morality tale. They take a running jump at solutions and reforms that might help boards work more effectively and ethically. Both thoughtful and lively, this is a fascinating discussion of a little-seen force in corporate America.
