NexBank Reminds Customers That FDIC Has Extended Deposit Insurance Guarantee Program
NexBank, a banking and financial services company headquartered in Dallas, is informing its current and prospective clients of something that is important for all individuals and businesses to remember.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has extended additional coverage amounts through 2013. The increased coverage amounts were originally slated to expire on December 31, 2009.
The Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009, signed into law by President Barack Obama on May 20, 2009, extended the $250,000 deposit insurance limit, increased from $100,000, through December 31, 2013.
The Transaction Account Guarantee Program (TAGP), which provides unlimited FDIC coverage for certain checking accounts, also has been extended to June 30, 2010. While not all banks participate in TAGP, NexBank — like many other banks — has elected to continue offering this program to its clients.
