The Director of Global Privacy will ensure that all requirements related to Personal Data Legislation are implemented and followed.
Responsibilities of Director of Global Privacy:
- Tracking, monitoring and assessing risk of new privacy laws and regulations in approximately 90 countries; be aware of when the legislation is effective, and integrate requirements into existing compliance activities
- Work closely with each data privacy and data protection project to provide strategic direction and management oversight. Create strategy, rationalize the project list, and report project status
- Ultimately responsible for the success of Data Privacy and Protection within the organization
Requirements of Director of Global Privacy:
- Bachelor’s degree; prefer advanced degree
- Three years experience in: pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or healthcare industry
- Four years direct experience complying with international privacy laws and regulations
- Certified Privacy Information Professional or alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Legal or contract experience preferred
- Participation in one or two privacy professional organizations
- Knowledgeable about domestic and international privacy laws including but not limited to the HIPAA Privacy Rule, US Safe Harbor Agreement, PIPEDA, EU Data Protection Directive
- Knowledgeable about SOPs/WPDs/Policies
- Ability to deliver comprehensive data privacy awareness
- Understanding of privacy and security compliance, best practices research and successfully aligning compliance projects within business
Relocation Package for Director of Global Privacy:
- Comprehensive relocation package
Compensation for Director of Global Privacy:
- Base salary of $195,000 to $215,000 + 25% annual bonus + $70,000 annual equity
