Job Description

Smith & Nephew is in the process of rolling out an Enhanced Global Compliance Programme. The Corporate Compliance Auditor position is a dedicated US-based compliance audit professional who will report directly to the Head of Internal Review in London.

This role provides a unique opportunity to join a small team responsible for auditing the Compliance Programme across the organization. The role will be based in the US at one of our Global Business Units (Memphis, Andover or Raleigh).

The role will involve a significant degree of travel, mainly within the US, but also globally, and provides a great opportunity to visit a number of our business units and third party representatives.

Main duties/responsibilities

• Contribute to the risk assessment of Smith & Nephew Business Units and Third Party Representatives to determine a Compliance Audit plan.
• Undertake Compliance Audits of Smith & Nephew Business Units and Third Party Representatives.
• Liaise with Local Compliance Officers and people within the business to identify instances of possible non-compliance with Smith & Nephew Global Policies and local legislation.
• Develop recommended corrective actions to address issues detected.
• Prepare draft reports and discuss findings with the Head of Internal Review. Present findings to local management.
• Monitor implementation of Compliance Audit recommendations. Assist with the preparation of documentation presented to the Board Ethics and Compliance Committee.

Required background and skills:

• Graduate level education.
• 3+ years of Corporate Compliance experience in a Healthcare focused company.
• A high level of report writing skills.
• Strong inter-personal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Comfortable with working in a proactive and changing environment.

Highly desirable background and skills:

• Previous experience in Compliance Auditing.
• Experience of the medical industry and familiarity with Advamed code.
