Ms. O'Keeffe brings up some very interesting points regarding the perception of compliance and how a shift in thinking towards quality can allow for compliance initiatives to be more seamlessly integrated into business operations.

Too often, at least in my experience, people look at compliance as a box; a constraining set of rules in which all decisions and actions must be contained. Yet, we all know that growth comes many times from thinking outside of the box and from feeling free to innovate and reinvigorate business processes.

Thinking about compliance in terms of quality is one way that we can encourage thinking that is outside the box and growth oriented, while still maintaining standards and fulfilling the specific requirements for which compliance is meant to be a guide.

Thank you for authoring this interesting perspective Ms. O'Keeffe. I look forward to more such articles from you in the future.
